Aplin is proud to partner with our client in the search for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with a few years of commercial experience to join a fantastic team in their Edmonton office!
This is a full-time opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys working on a wide range of corporate commercial matters—including contracts, lease agreements, share purchase agreements, loan documents, and more.

SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Graduate of an accredited legal assistant program
  • 2-4 years of corporate commercial experience required
  • Knowledge in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
  • ACUMIN knowledge is an asset
  • High professionalism and the ability to respect confidentiality
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures, scheduling and deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment

Responsibilities
  • Open, draft, review and prepare files; including commercial contracts, lease agreements, share purchase agreements, loan documents and more
  • Prepare detailed reports to all necessary parties, entering complete file progress on applicable systems
  • Manage workflow for team of lawyers
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and maintain calendars
  • Preparation of accounts and time entry
  • General administrative tasks including data entry, photocopying and scanning, and file management
  • Respond to daily inquiries from lawyers, legal assistants, and clients
  • Others duties as assigned
