Description Varney Agency Inc. is seeking a full time Commercial Lines Account Manager for our Manhattan, NY location. Job Responsibilities: To service and maintain a CL book of business (large accounts with complex needs) including application preparation and submission, policy renewals, proposal preparation, invoicing, certificate of insurance, etc. High proficiency in CL coverages and familiarity working with Large CL accounts Strong knowledge of New York & New Jersey insurance markets Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term relationships with clients, producers, underwriters and business partners High competency in the quoting process and placing new and renewal business Ability to cultivate and build close relationships with underwriters in NY/NJ market Ability to complete marketing summaries with substantive feedback regarding results re: outcome with carriers Comfortable and skilled with calling underwriters to sell accounts Ability to prepare professional, detailed, accurate proposals Maintaining proper workflow, documentation and service delivery Assisting with CSR tasks when necessary Ability to evaluate and understand each individual client's risk, identify coverage gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions In depth technical knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverages, and ability to act as a technical resource for both client and Producer Ability to review contract specifications and identify coverage needed Requirements 5+ years experience in Commercial Property & Casualty; Large Commercial experience a plus P&C License required Proficient with computer technology, Agency Management System; EPIC and Indio experience a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to concentrate in a fast paced, high volume environment with high accuracy is required Ability to evaluate and prioritize workflow effectively in order to meet deadlines
