Description

Reporting to the Director of Credit and Administration, the Commercial Loan Clerk contributes to enriching members’ experience by providing exceptional service through prompt and efficient delivery of commercial administration, audit, reporting and data management. This position requires an individual with excellent analytical and organizational skills, problem solving and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Performs all loan clerking duties including funding, reporting, administering, auditing credit files as well as conducting commercial risk investigations, security inspections and searches
  • Maintains daily tracking systems for expiry and renewal dates for all commercial mortgages
  • Ensures transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner; GLs are balanced
  • Audits and maintains commercial files and documents in accordance with Sunshine Coast Credit Union’s policies and procedures
  • Assists in the resolution of routine loan discrepancies
  • Prepares correspondence in relation to financial statements and follows-up preparation of draft commercial reviews and memo to file
  • Completes the administrative portion of the annual loan review process
  • Processes commercial mortgage transactions (Funding, Disbursements, Payouts)
  • Verifies, registers, renews, discharges, and administers all required security and searches
  • Performs tasks as they relate to the syndicated loan portfolio including file maintenance, auditing, monitoring of renewals and communication with the relevant lending employees
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of credit union lending and deposit services and products and ensures commercial loan activities are compliant with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Adheres to security procedures as they pertain to the position
