Requirements General summary: The Commercial Loan Officer II is responsible for independently managing a portfolio of commercial loans while continuing to develop expertise in credit analysis and business development. This role conducts in-depth financial assessments, structures loan solutions, and works closely with clients to meet their borrowing needs. A strong focus on risk management, relationship building, and sales growth is required. Organizational relationships: Reports to: Commercial Lending Team Lead Supervises: None Specific duties and responsibilities: Displays intermediate knowledge, skills, and abilities. The employee handles more complex duties and responsibilities with greater independence Consistently delivers high-quality customer service, both internally and externally. Professionally represents the bank at client meetings and community events. Actively solicits new business, independently building a portfolio of deposit and loan relationships. Proactively cross-sells bank services and actively engages in community involvement to strengthen business development efforts. Meets or exceeds annual loan and deposit growth goals while maintaining loan quality standards. Independently underwrites moderately complex commercial loans, recommending approvals within defined authority levels and to senior officers as applicable. Manages the ongoing monitoring of assigned credits, identifying and addressing deficiencies with minimal supervision. Provides guidance to branch staff on business development strategies and cross-selling techniques. Ensures full compliance with all applicable regulations, taking ownership of regulatory requirements for loans in their portfolio. Actively participates in meetings, bringing insights and contributing to process improvements. Completes additional tasks assigned to support the lending team and bank operations. Demonstrates the organizational values everyday to support the Bank’s mission and vision. Supports local communities through volunteerism. Skills and abilities required: Intermediate underwriting skills, capable of handling moderately complex credit analyses with less oversight. Continuously building knowledge of regulatory and compliance laws. Proactively builds a client portfolio, demonstrating growing confidence in sales and negotiation. Deeper understanding of bank products, with the ability to recommend appropriate solutions. Effectively communicates with clients, prepares complex loan packages, and balances multiple priorities. Manages client relationships independently, nurturing long-term connections. Works collaboratively while providing support to junior officers; contributes insights to team strategies. Balances multiple tasks independently, prioritizing based on business needs. Consistently represents the bank with professionalism and confidence. Meets established attendance and punctuality standards. Able to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, including occasional overtime or schedule adjustments as needed. Education, training and experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience in commercial lending may be considered. Strong oral, written, and telephone communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office applications. Experience interpreting and analyzing business financial statements. 3-5 years of experience in commercial credit relationship management. Proven ability to assess complex risk factors in commercial credit requests. Demonstrated success in retaining and growing a portfolio of commercial clients. Working environment and conditions: Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Prolonged periods of sitting, with intermittent walking and standing. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
