Description Job Summary Overview The Commercial Loan Servicer I is responsible for ensuring all commercial servicing duties are completed in a timely manner and member service is held at a high standard for the life of the loan. Essential Job Functions Oversee and review of commercial, construction, input or callback of loan servicing activities including payment processing, loan boarding, construction draws, note maintenance, tickler reporting, management and review of loan collateral, financial and regulatory reporting, and adherence to compliance guidelines. Recommend, develop, implement, research and update processes and procedures that streamline and create operational efficiencies within Commercial Servicing. Facilitate ongoing training for Commercial Servicing Specialists which includes but is not limited to loan boarding, payments and payoffs, tickler report maintenance and call back processes. Investigates and problem solves for any out of balance or anomalies within the portfolio. Assists in department projects and assists with any system changes or testing efforts. Responds to any borrower escalations regarding servicing activities. Complete pre-boarding review of Commercial loans. Board all new and renewed Commercial loans to the Silverlake core system based on approved loan write-ups, accurate borrower information, and complete loan documentation packages. Boarding process may include utilization of complete and accurate boarding checklists, tax service, welcome letters, draw consent forms, construction documents, CIP/BSA risk rating forms, etc. Monitor delinquent taxes by reviewing Tax Service reports. Prepare letters to customers, update contact log, maintain appropriate support, and report findings to Senior Loan Committee. Certify process semi-annually. Provide timely and accurate communication to appropriate members of Management concerning documentation and boarding errors, member service issues, Compliance or reporting irregularities, or any other matters that pose a risk to the credit union. Support loan regulatory compliance functions: CIP/BSA, Patriot Act, etc. Develop and maintain a control environment that mitigates risk and protects credit union assets. Serves as a lead preparing for audits and regulatory examinations. May be called upon from time to time to perform any job-related tasks as needed by the credit union. Maintain, prepare, and track UCC Continuation financing statements. Ensure the Tickler Report is updated to reflect appropriate dates for review. Monitor the Tickler Report and ensure UCC filings are properly tracked and reported correctly on collateral tracking report. Work with Branch Operations to ensure FBO and collateral holds are in place and modified appropriately when construction draws, or payoffs occur. Process loan payoffs and complete tasks on related checklists including but not limited to collateral release, member communication and servicing transfer. Review various loan reports and related documentation on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to ensure accuracy of information recorded in the Silverlake core lending system. Responsible for accurate report retention. Track and monitor construction loans and convert to permanent financing (P&I versus Interest Only) as appropriate. Daily balancing and resolution of Commercial Servicing general ledger accounts, including review of GL Application Balancing Report, Loan WIP, Loan Suspense, Principal and Accrued Interest, Deferred Fees and Costs, and related adjustments to interest income accounts. Responsible for final Synergy review and maintenance. Licenses, Training, and Certifications None. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of experience in loan support systems, or 9 months experience working within Arizona Financial Credit Union (AFCU). Knowledge of commercial loan operation standards, along with basic knowledge of lending, compliance and credit regulations. Professional written, verbal communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to produce quality work within tight time frames while managing multiple assignments. Ability to work on specific issues related to the credit union’s core operating system (JHA). Strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines, advanced interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and the desire to work as a team to support the overall success of the credit union. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of JHA and Laser Pro. Construction lending experience. College degree or relevant financial industry certification. Hybrid Work Environment and Physical Demands Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. Frequently required to sit. Regularly required to use hands to finger keys accurately when using calculator machines or computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
