What you’ll be doing
As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for the Commercial and financial management of projects from inception, tendering to, negotiating and agreeing Contracts both internally & externally, and then post award, full controlled commercial delivery of Projects.
You will be an integral part of the project delivery team, holding key responsibilities associated with the commercial and financial success of each project.
Typically, you will have a track record of managing and developing a commercial team and be a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES or CIOB whilst being a mentor /role model to other commercial staff on their journey to becoming professionally qualified. You also will maintain your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

  • Manages customer needs
  • Manages opportunities & threats
  • Knowledge of Rail and Civil Engineering projects is an advantage
  • Knowledge of a variety of standard contract forms used within the rail sector, including but not limited to the NEC3 & NEC4 standard contract forms

The following qualifications are essential:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
  • Membership of or working towards RICS, ICES or CIOB chartershi
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the commercial and financial delivery of projects.
  • Oversee tender submissions, contract negotiation, and financial reporting.
  • Manage commercial risk and opportunities.
  • Ensure effective procurement and supply chain management.
  • Mentor and develop junior commercial staff.
