Description

At Transgrid, we play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy to millions of Australians. Operating over 13,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations across NSW and the ACT, we connect electricity generators to the distribution network—powering homes, businesses, and communities.
As the energy sector evolves, we’re growing our workforce to drive innovation and transformation.

Responsibilities

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Shaping commercial frameworks and contract models (e.g. Master Agreements, Alliances, Incentive-Based Contracts) that support collaborative and value-driven project delivery.
  • Leading complex upstream and downstream negotiations with delivery partners, contractors and external stakeholders to secure optimal risk-reward outcomes.
  • Managing the commercial lifecycle of projects, from tender development and contract establishment through to claims, variations, and final close-out.
  • Driving continuous improvement in commercial practices, systems and governance across the Delivery Projects group

No two days are the same. In this role, you will:

  • Lead commercial strategy and performance across a portfolio of transmission projects
  • Drive contract model development (e.g. Master Agreements, Alliances, Gainshare) and negotiate upstream/downstream commercial terms
  • Partner with project teams, legal, finance, procurement and planning to manage claims, risks, and commercial delivery
  • Provide expert guidance on complex contractual issues, ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory obligations
  • Uplift commercial capability across the broader Delivery Projects group through mentoring and training initiative
