A Commercial Manager is required to one of Ireland’s top Civil Engineering Contractors for a full-time, permanent position in the Munster Region.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of multiple projects from inception to completion. This position requires a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and commercial negotiations, along with the ability to manage client relationships and lead a dynamic commercial team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed a relevant third level qualification.
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in a Commercial Manager role, with a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting for civil engineering projects.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in managing project finances and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving approach to managing commercial challenges.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the commercial management of projects, including cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review tender submissions, contract negotiations, and project proposals.
- Manage the preparation of accurate valuations, applications for payments, and variations.
- Ensure the timely and accurate submission of cost reports and forecasts to senior management and clients.
- Monitor project performance against budgets and schedules, ensuring financial and commercial targets are met.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure project delivery aligns with commercial objectives.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier negotiations and agreements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
