A Commercial Manager is required to one of Ireland’s top Civil Engineering Contractors for a full-time, permanent position in the Munster Region.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of multiple projects from inception to completion. This position requires a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and commercial negotiations, along with the ability to manage client relationships and lead a dynamic commercial team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completed a relevant third level qualification.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a Commercial Manager role, with a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting for civil engineering projects.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in managing project finances and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving approach to managing commercial challenges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the commercial management of projects, including cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review tender submissions, contract negotiations, and project proposals.
  • Manage the preparation of accurate valuations, applications for payments, and variations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of cost reports and forecasts to senior management and clients.
  • Monitor project performance against budgets and schedules, ensuring financial and commercial targets are met.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure project delivery aligns with commercial objectives.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier negotiations and agreements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
