SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, or similar role in the construction industry (scaffolding experience highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of contracts, pricing, and project finance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (Excel, MS Office, Smart Scaffolder etc).
  • A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of our scaffolding projects. You’ll work closely with directors, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered profitably, on time, and in line with industry regulations. This role requires a sharp commercial mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and strong knowledge of the construction and scaffolding sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the commercial function of the business, including tendering, contracts, and cost control.
  • Lead on pricing, quotations, and bids for scaffolding projects.
  • Negotiate and manage client contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial requirements.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, and cash flow.
  • Identify and manage risks while maximising opportunities for profit.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Provide regular commercial reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Support the development of company policies, processes, and long-term business strategy.
