COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Commercial Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This is a strategic role where you will lead commercial and contract management activities across major infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on improving billing accuracy and payment efficiency.
You will be instrumental in driving financial performance, ensuring contractual compliance, and strengthening client relationships. WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or related field.
  • 15+ years postgraduate of demonstrable experience in all aspects of quantity surveying.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead commercial operations with a focus on billing and payment optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and negotiation of prime contracts.

WHAT DESIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:

  • Qualified and chartered by a recognised international body such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar will be an added advantage.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to perform complex commercial management activities typical to the engineering and construction industry.
  • Experience working as a consultant providing internal and external advice to client and ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all commercial and contractual aspects of infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with company policies and client expectations.
  • Oversee the preparation, validation, and timely submission of monthly payment applications and certificates.
  • Drive improvements in billing workflows and payment tracking to enhance cash flow and reduce delays.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including preparation of monthly financial statements and forecasts.
  • Ensure completeness and compliance of all contractual documentation and obligations.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, including non-conforming contractual terms.
  • Manage final account preparation and close-out processes.
  • Provide commercial guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and develop junior commercial staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Maintain active engagement with professional bodies and stay current on industry best practices.
