Description

START YOUR SNOWY STORY

Step into a career that’s as big as Australia’s energy future! Snowy 2.0 is more than a project—it’s the nation’s largest renewable energy initiative, expanding the iconic Snowy Scheme to deliver reliable power and critical energy storage. As part of the client-side Owner’s Team, we lead the charge, working hand-in-hand with delivery partners and stakeholders to make Snowy Hydro’s vision of a sustainable, reliable energy future a reality.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We’re looking for Commercial Managers to take a key leadership role on the Snowy 2.0 Project. You’ll oversee all commercial and contractual aspects, managing relationships, ensuring compliance, and strategically navigating claims, variations, and negotiations. This is your chance to make a real impact on one of Australia’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.
The role is based in Cooma, with a generous relocation package for those ready to move. Can’t relocate? A FIFO (5:2) roster will also be considered for the right candidate.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead high-impact negotiations with contractors on claims and variations, driving outcomes that safeguard Snowy Hydro’s interests and project objectives.
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Be the go-to contracts expert, managing subcontract variations with clarity, precision, and consistent communication across all parties.
  • Strategically resolve claims and variations, balancing risk, opportunity, and the project’s long-term goals.
  • Ensure legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance, reducing risk while supporting proactive decision-making.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks linked to claims, variations, and commercial issues before they escalate.
  • Provide actionable insights and reporting to senior leadership, turning complex commercial data into strategic guidance.
  • Champion continuous improvement, streamlining processes, driving efficiency, and embedding best-practice contract management across the team.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing commercial team culture.
