Our client, a leading Utilities Contractor, is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join their team based in West Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commercial delivery of large-scale utility projects, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance. This is a key leadership role within the business, and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-value projects and a strong understanding of NEC4 contracts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a commercial management role, ideally within the utilities or civil engineering sector.
  • Proven experience managing large-value projects.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with NEC4 contracts – essential.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in commercial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of large-scale utility projects from pre-contract through to final account.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC4 contract requirements and manage contract administration.
  • Oversee cost control, forecasting, and reporting across multiple projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and commercial staff.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are met.
  • Prepare and negotiate interim and final accounts.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Support procurement and subcontractor selection processes.
  • Provide strategic input into project planning and delivery.
