VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: COMMERCIAL OFFICER  Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed individual for the position of Commercial Officer to join the versatile Supply Chain team. Your Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following: * Act as the primary commercial liaison between end users and the Supply Chain team, ensuring accurate translation of business needs into sourcing requirements.  * Provide expert commercial guidance to stakeholders in the development, review, and refinement of Scopes of Work (SOW) to ensure clarity, completeness, and competitiveness.  * Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify capable, reliable, and cost-effective suppliers and business partners.  * Support and influence supplier sourcing, evaluation, and selection processes in alignment with company policies and best practices.  * Analyze supply chain and procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, demand patterns, and areas requiring strategic sourcing interventions.  * Ensure all procurement and commercial activities comply with local content regulations, internal governance frameworks, and statutory requirements.  * Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and commercial processes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and value delivery.  * Support the coordination and administration of activities within the Local Content Management System (LOCAS), including reporting, tracking, and compliance monitoring. To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements: * Full Grade 12 School Certificate.   * Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. * Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial, procurement, or supply chain role, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector. * Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and supply  * Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI, or similar) * Understanding of supply chain processes (procurement, warehousing, distribution)  * Experience using integrated management systems and recognized ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar procurement management systems.   What We Can Offer You: * A comprehensive compensation package including bonuses and site-specific benefits. * The ability to make a difference and lasting impact. * Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team. * Opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues. * Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.
