Job Description
The salary for this role is £32,577 Onsite working is expected for 2-3 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role can be based at any of the following sites; Culham, Oxfordshire
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) , including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 GCSE’s (two of which must be Maths & English Language).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral and with people at all levels.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritise the workload is essential.
  • Good office/administration experience, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate numeric data accurately to produce reports.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As a Commercial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing a Commercial Service to UKAEA Customers. Managing Commercials from market engagement through to contract completion, providing commercial support to Contract Project Managers. Contracts will be let for a range of disciplines, Professional Services, Construction, Facilities Management, the Manufacture & Supply of Goods and Services. Also call off agreements and mini competitions under Government Frameworks.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain Commercial databases
  • Provide advice to Project Managers on contractual strategies
  • Contribute to problem solving and decision making
  • To manage contracts from tender through to closure.This will include market engagement, completing tender documentation, evaluation of bids, ensuring that value for money is obtained at all times, negotiation of appropriate commercial agreements, resolving claims and disputes.
  • To provide general support, advice, coaching/delivery of training on commercial matters.
  • To contribute to the evolution of the Authority’s commercial terms and conditions, policies and working practices.
  • Manage own development towards building knowledge and skills.
  • To ensure adherence and compliance to the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Development and design of simple systems/processes to support Commercial delivery, using own initiative. Carry out routine analysis. Validate data input by others.
  • Work independently in accordance with UKAEA Commercial processes and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to Internal and External stakeholders on UKAEA Commercial processes
  • Provide mentoring and support to Commercial Apprentices.
