Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Commercial Operations Lead is a key support to the General Manager, positioned to learn the operational heartbeat of Dardi Munwurro Labour & Traffic Management. This role is a stepping stone into commercial leadership, responsible for mastering internal systems (including Traffio), understanding and enhancing client relationships, and taking the lead on commercial management — all while maintaining the cultural integrity and social impact vision of the company.
Key Responsibilities

Commercial Management

  • Assist in developing and maintaining rate cards, pricing strategies, and bid responses.
  • Review and negotiate client contracts in line with industry standards and cultural values.
  • Monitor revenue, project margins, and financial performance of contracts.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to ensure sustainable commercial growth.

Systems & Operations

  • Gain full understanding of Traffio and other workflow systems to ensure accurate client bookings, staff allocations, and job tracking.
  • Ensure all bookings and invoicing are aligned with client agreements and operational capacity.
  • Streamline operational handover between bookings, accounts, and field staff.

Client Relations

  • Support existing client relationships with professionalism, responsiveness, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Work alongside the GM to build new client partnerships and retain long-term contracts.
  • Resolve service issues, negotiate work scopes, and represent the business in meetings.

Industrial Relations & Union Engagement

  • Understand Industrial Relations (IR) laws and award frameworks relevant to traffic management.
  • Maintain collaborative and compliant relationships with unions, including the CFMEU.
  • Work with field staff and supervisors to ensure conditions of employment align with EBAs or Awards.

Key Attributes

  • Strong interest in commercial management and business operations.
  • Excellent relationship building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge across systems and stakeholder networks.
  • A commitment to cultural safety and community-led employment.
  • Familiarity with IR and union frameworks, or willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience in traffic, construction, labour hire, or operations highly regarded.
