The Group and EMEA Legal team provides legal and compliance support to the Dr. Martens Group functions (Global Supply Chain, Technology, Strategy and Finance), our EMEA region and also the broader Legal team.
We are looking for a paralegal who can support the Group and EMEA Legal team which comprises 4 lawyers. This role will act as a trusted legal advisor to the business, providing high quality legal advice on commercial issues and projects at all stages, managing the balance between legal risk and commercial reward.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Handling a broad range of commercial legal documents across various functions (T&Cs, framework agreements, supplier and procurement contracts, marketing, property and facilities agreements, data processing, PoAs, confidentiality, etc.) to support business operations.
  • Providing contract and legal support to EMEA teams (E-com, Marketing, Wholesale, Customer Services), including updates to website T&Cs, promotions and competition rules, customer complaints, and supplier agreements.
  • Advising on legislative changes, GDPR (including data deletion requests), local sales law across EMEA, and delivering internal training and know-how resources.
  • Supporting UK and EMEA litigation matters, managing contract execution via DocuSign, ensuring correct filing and tracking, and overseeing legal inboxes and meeting coordination.
  • Contributing to process improvement, development of legal templates, precedents, and staying current with legal developments through research, webinars, and training sessions.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Excellent academic background with a law degree, CILEX, NALP, or equivalent legal training; prior paralegal experience in-house or at a law firm is essential; LPC, GDL, or SQE are advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, IP, Group and EMEA teams; supportive, proactive, and team-oriented.
  • Clear and impactful communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across various business functions.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills; able to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to changing business needs with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
  • Detail-driven, courageous, and open to feedback with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to excellence.
