Description Job Title: Commercial Portfolio Manager Reports to: VP/Credit Administration Job Type: Full Time Position Overview: The Commercial Portfolio Manager is responsible for supporting the bank’s commercial lending team by managing, monitoring and servicing a portfolio of commercial credit relationships. This role ensures sound credit quality, maintains compliance with bank policies and regulations, and provides superior client service to strengthen customer relationships. The portfolio Manager works closely with Commercial Loan Officers and Credit Administration to evaluate credit requests, monitor loan performance, and identify opportunities or risks within the portfolio. Primary Responsibilities: · Portfolio Management & Monitoring o Manage and monitor an assigned portfolio of commercial lenders, ensuring credit quality and compliance with bank policies. o Review borrower financial statements, tax returns, and covenant compliance to assess ongoing creditworthiness. o Identify potential risks, trends, or deteriorating credit conditions and recommend appropriate action. o Maintain accurate and timely loan documentation, credit files, and system updates. o Manage and monitor client relationships · Credit Analysis & Underwriting o Assist with underwriting new and renewed commercial loan requests, including spreading financials, preparing credit presentations, and recommending loan structures o Analyze borrower and guarantor financial condition, repayment capacity, collateral, and industry conditions o Support loan origination while maintaining credit discipline · Client Service & Relationship Support o Act as a point of contact for clients regarding loan questions, reporting requirements, and general account maintenance. o Coordinate with internal departments (loan operations, credit, compliance) to ensure timely processing and resolution of client needs. · Risk & Compliance o Ensure all portfolio activities adhere to regulatory requirements and the bank’s credit policies. o Participate in loan reviews, audits, and examinations as needed o Support the bank’s risk management culture by escalating concerns promptly. o Ensure adequate hazard and flood insurance is maintained on collateral as needed. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requirements Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2-5 years of commercial banking, credit analysis, or portfolio management experience (community banking experience preferred). Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, loan structuring, and commercial lending practices. Proficiency with loan software, financial spreading tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships across departments and with clients. Physical Requirements: This position requires a high degree of mobility. May be subject to prolonged sitting/standing, frequent use of hands and upper body to manipulate/grasp objects/branch equipment, ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, lifting of 1 – 15 lbs. Must be able to travel by vehicle to branches/meetings/seminars, and so forth.
