WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for people with a solid foundation in ship repair, maritime engineering, or a related industry, who are motivated to develop their commercial skills further. Experience in estimating, bid management, or contract administration would be highly advantageous, but we are equally interested in those with practical maritime knowledge (e.g. Electricians, Fabricators, Engineers, Ships Crew, etc) who want to broaden into commercial work.

Key desirable attributes include:

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness with analytical and detail-focused thinking
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office essential)
  • Motivation to grow and contribute within a collaborative team

Depending on your skills and experience, you will:

  • Prepare and analyse cost estimates against customer specifications
  • Liaise with customers to clarify requirements and ensure accurate pricing
  • Visit vessels to ensure estimates and specifications are accurate
  • Compile material take-offs and produce tender documents that meet contract requirements
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing
  • Manage vessel accounts, forecasts, variation orders, and invoices
  • Support and mentor colleagues as your expertise grow
