Commercial & Procurement Lead Location: Perth CBD Roster: 5/2 (Monday to Friday) Commencement: ASAP About the role: UGL are seeking an experienced Commercial & Procurement Lead to join our team on an ongoing basis working on a major Oil & Gas project. Point of hire is Perth, WA. Key Responsibilities: · Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage and oversee the project budget, ensuring that all expenditures align with the projects WBS & financial objectives. · Procurement Strategy: Lead and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. · Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and administer contracts, ensuring favourable terms that align with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints. · Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. · Risk Management: Analyse and mitigate commercial risks associated with the contracts financial performance, procurement, subcontracting, and supplier performance. · Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of contract and commercial professionals, fostering collaboration across departments. · Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, and industry standards. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management. About you: · Proven experience in a contract / commercial lead role, ideally within the Oil & Gas construction sector as a main contractor performing SMP and/or E&I scope. · Strong understanding of construction project management, project controls, procurement processes, and commercial contracts. · Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. · Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
