As a result, Bright Solicitors are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Property Fee Earner. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced paralegal, qualified solicitor, or CILEX/FILEX Associate looking to further their career in commercial property. The role involves client exposure and responsibility from day one.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of commercial property matters including all aspects of real estate acquisitions, portfolio management, commercial landlord and tenant work and developments and disposal transactions, together with offering commercial property support to the firm’s Commercial Team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: At least one year of experience working in commercial property law (either as a paralegal, solicitor, or CILEX/FILEX Associate).
  • Qualifications: A qualified solicitor, CILEX/FILEX Associate, or experienced paralegal.
  • A sound understanding of commercial property law and experience with development-related matters.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work well within a team and under the guidance of senior colleagues.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • To undertake legal work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the team.
  • To represent the firm, its ethos and professional standards
  • To run a caseload of files from start to file closure.
  • Draft legal documents & research/problem-solve issues
  • Keep up with changes in legislation and changes affecting the industry
  • Market the team and bring in new business.
  • Maintain existing referral relationships
  • To ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan.
  • Work with legal assistants and apprentices within the team and contribute towards their development.
  • Assist with training of team members and other colleagues within the firm
  • Cover holiday of other team members.
  • Attend management meetings if required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Commercial Property Fee Earner at Bright Solicitors, your primary responsibility will be to manage a caseload of commercial property matters. You will work closely with senior colleagues to assist in a wide range of property transactions, including Landlord and Tenant, Development, development work.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Managing your own caseload of commercial property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases with and without lending, leases, and development work.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating property agreements, leases, and other related documents.
  • Providing clients with practical, commercial advice on property-related matters, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Assisting in the acquisition, development, and disposal of commercial properties, including land development.
  • Liaising with clients, third parties, and other professionals such as surveyors, estate agents, and local authorities.
  • Carrying out due diligence and property searches to ensure the smooth progression of transactions.
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring that work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and policies relating to commercial property.
  • Contributing to business development activities, including marketing and networking efforts.
