Description Evans Wakefield is offering an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced full-time Maintenance Technician with strong carpentry and general maintenance skills to play a key role with our commercial properties. What Does a Day as a Maintenance/Carpentry Specialist Look Like? • Start your day at 7:00 a.m. in our Bellevue office with a quick team meeting to review assignments and plan the day. • Hit the road in a company vehicle to visit a variety of commercial properties between Covington and Arlington. No two days are the same! • Tackle hands-on maintenance and carpentry projects, including framing, hanging doors, general repairs, drywall, electrical work, plumbing, and more. • Take a well-earned ½ hour lunch break to recharge. • Keep properties and common areas looking their best and ensure all spaces are safe and well-maintained. • Work with paints, cleaners, and other materials safely and responsibly. • Deliver professional, friendly service to our commercial tenants at every property. • Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure everything is ready for the next job. • Wrap up the day at 3:30 p.m., knowing you’ve contributed to keeping our properties in top shape. Requirements Requirements Qualifications for success in this role: • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance role is REQUIRED • Demonstrated carpentry experience including framing, hanging doors, and general carpentry repairs • Ability to safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment • Experience with basic plumbing, painting, and electrical troubleshooting • Ability to function professionally and effectively in a customer service atmosphere • Basic computer skills and strong written/oral communication Physical Demands • Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work (machines, climbing/descending ladders, various tools and equipment, operating motor vehicles) • Must be able to read printed materials and a computer screen, and to distinguish colors in wiring • Must be capable of hearing and speaking to communicate in person and over the telephone • Must be capable of frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards • Must possess finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and/or to operate tools and equipment • Must be capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and inspecting work sites • Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier with/without assistance and/or the use of proper equipment Working Environment • Maintenance Techs work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels • May work in cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions, including snow, rain, and wind • Exposure to chemicals, mechanical and hazardous physical substances, and fumes • Maintenance Techs will interact courteously with tenants and staff and must follow all applicable policies and procedures Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am–3:30pm with ½ hour lunch Salary: $30–35 per hour based on experience Benefits: • Health/Vision/Dental insurance • Life insurance • Employee assistance program • Paid time off including sick, vacation, and holidays ***Job offers will be contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check*** Evans Wakefield is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to ensuring equity, inclusion, diversity, belonging, and accommodation at all properties and workplace environments.
