Key Responsibilities in Commercial Property Solicitor Roles Manage a varied caseload of commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, investment transactions, landlord and tenant issues, and property finance. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, agreements for lease, licences, sale and purchase contracts, and other real estate documentation in line with regulatory standards and best practice. Advise a diverse client base, including developers, investors, landlords, tenants, and business owners, providing clear, pragmatic legal guidance at every stage of the transaction. Liaise effectively with clients, agents, financial institutions, solicitors, and third parties to facilitate successful completion of commercial property transactions. Conduct due diligence, including investigation of title, review of searches, and preparation of reports on title for clients and lenders. Ensure all transactions adhere to SRA, AML, GDPR, and other relevant compliance requirements, maintaining accurate records within the firm’s case management systems. Identify and manage potential legal risks, proactively resolving issues and maintaining a client-focused approach. Support colleagues in the property law team, sharing knowledge, providing mentoring, and contributing to internal training and departmental growth. Essential Skills and Experience for Commercial Property Solicitors Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with proven experience managing a commercial property caseload independently within private practice. Strong understanding of UK commercial property law and transactional processes, including landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals, and development. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, delivering accurate and commercially astute legal advice. Outstanding organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple transactions efficiently in a deadline-driven environment. Effective communication skills, providing a high standard of client care and building strong, long-term client relationships. Proficiency in legal IT systems, document management, and Microsoft Office applications.
