REMOTE FLEXIBILITY: HYBRID REMOTE FLEXIBILITY

An established Toronto law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant / Law Clerk to support a busy real estate practice group. Acting as a workflow coordinator, you will provide both assistant and junior clerk support to lawyers, contributing to the smooth daily operations of the team. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant diploma program (ILCO certification an asset)
  • 5+ years of experience in a real estate/transactional law environment preferred
  • Familiarity with Ontario real estate legislation (Land Titles Act, Registry Act, Planning Act) an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Teraview and/or Conveyancer required
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Positive, professional, and adaptable team player with excellent communication skills
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $78,000.00 per year
    Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON M5C 2C
Responsibilities
  • Draft, edit, and format correspondence, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Manage calendars, contacts, meetings, and conference calls
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files; assist with document management systems
  • Support closings, including preparation of blacklines, closing books, and e-books
  • Handle phone calls, correspondence, expense claims, docketing, billing, scanning, and general office duties
  • Use Closing Folders software to manage transactions, including tracking documents and updating agendas
  • Prepare signature page packages and confirm proper execution of documents
  • Provide support for overflow, urgent deadlines, and team back-up as required
