JOB SUMMARY

At HCW, we build spaces that shape communities. As a Commercial Real Estate Development Manager, you’ll oversee critical aspects of our hotel, multi-family, and retail projects from design through construction. You’ll work directly with development leadership, architects, engineers, and contractors to review plans, manage contracts, coordinate permitting, and ensure projects move forward seamlessly. This role is designed for a professional who has proven development, architectural or construction experience and is ready to take ownership in managing high-profile projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the review of civil, landscape, structural, architectural, MEP, and interior design plans to identify conflicts, cost implications, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of AIA documents, including design and construction contracts.
  • Oversee drawing reviews, markups, and measurements using Bluebeam.
  • Direct the use of contractor project management platforms (Procore, Autodesk, etc.).
  • Coordinate with design teams to track and submit AHJ approvals and permits.
  • Co-lead dry utility coordination during design and construction phases.
  • Manage RFP processes for third-party inspection services.
  • Oversee contracting and coordination of owner-furnished items (kitchen/bar/laundry equipment, flooring, VWC, fitness equipment).
  • Knowledge of FFE procurement, including purchase orders and tracking.
  • Lead review of submittals, RFIs, and project change order logs.
  • Actively participate in site visits, OAC meetings, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Collaborate with property management and operations teams during project turnover.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by leadership to support the success of projects.
