Position Summary: The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal/Settlement Officer will support the real estate practice group and affiliate company (Granite Settlement) by managing settlement processes, preparing closing documents, and coordinating with all parties involved in real estate transactions. This role requires a high level of accuracy, organization, and professionalism and offers an excellent opportunity for growth. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and facilitate commercial real estate transactions from contract to post-closing. Prepare and review closing documents, including settlement statements, deeds, assignments, corporate resolutions, affidavits, and loan documents. Communicate with lenders, real estate agents, title companies, and clients throughout the transaction process. Review title commitments and exception documents. Order and review lien payoff statements, property tax information, insurance, and other closing-related documents. Ensure timely disbursement of funds and recording of legal documents post-closing. Maintain accurate transaction records and perform administrative tasks related to closings. Support attorneys with other transactional and legal tasks as needed. Requirements Qualifications: Associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in real estate transactions, settlements, or related legal support roles. Strong knowledge of real estate closing processes and title insurance. Familiarity with title software (e.g., Qualia, SoftPro, RamQuest) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
