Description ACS Commercial Roofing Production Manager Position Title: Commercial Roofing Production Manager Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Operations / General Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary The Commercial Roofing Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all commercial roofing projects from contract handoff through final completion. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and at ACS quality standards. This position leads field superintendents, foremen, and crews while coordinating closely with estimating, sales, and administration. Success in this role means jobs are profitable, organized, and predictable — with strong communication between field and office. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Execution & Oversight Manage all commercial roofing production activities Oversee multiple projects simultaneously Review job budgets, scopes, and specifications prior to start Conduct pre-construction meetings with field leadership Ensure proper job staging, scheduling, and material ordering Monitor daily production progress and job costing Perform regular job site visits and quality control inspections Ensure project close-out documentation is complete Key Outcome: Projects finish on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. 2. Scheduling & Resource Management Develop and maintain master production schedule Assign crews based on skill level and workload Coordinate equipment and material logistics Balance manpower across projects to reduce overtime and inefficiencies Monitor shop time and non-billable labor Key Outcome: Efficient labor utilization with minimal downtime and overtime. 3. Financial Accountability Review job cost reports weekly Monitor labor hours vs estimated hours Control material waste and prevent cost overruns Approve change orders and document scope changes Identify profit fade early and correct it Key Outcome: Production maintains or improves estimated gross margin. 4. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA and company safety standards Conduct regular safety meetings Ensure fall protection and equipment compliance Investigate and document incidents Maintain required certifications and jobsite documentation Key Outcome: Safe jobsites with minimal incidents and full compliance. 5. Team Leadership & Development Lead superintendents and foremen Conduct performance check-ins Provide training and coaching Address performance issues promptly Support recruiting and onboarding of field personnel Key Outcome: Strong field leadership pipeline and low turnover. 6. Communication & Coordination Act as liaison between sales, estimating, and field teams Participate in weekly operations meetings Provide job updates and forecasting Communicate proactively with customers when needed Support conflict resolution in the field Key Outcome: Clear communication and zero surprises.
