This role is heavily focused on the installation, restoration, and maintenance of fluid-applied roofing and waterproofing systems, including silicone, acrylic, polyurethane, and asphalt-based coatings. The Foreman will lead field operations with an emphasis on surface preparation, application accuracy, material performance, and long-term system integrity. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise in coatings applications, understands manufacturer specifications and mil thickness requirements, and is committed to delivering high-quality, watertight systems that extend roof life and maximize performance. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Coatings-Focused Leadership & Execution: * Lead and supervise crews in the installation of fluid-applied roof coating systems (silicone, acrylic, polyurethane, asphaltic, etc.). * Ensure proper surface preparation, including cleaning, repairs, priming, and substrate evaluation prior to application. * Verify and document wet mil thickness and coverage rates to meet manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements. * Oversee detail work including penetrations, seams, flashing, drains, and transitions to ensure full system integrity. * Identify and correct issues related to adhesion, blistering, pinholes, moisture, or improper cure conditions. Quality Control & Performance: * Perform and document daily quality control inspections, including photo documentation (e.g., wet mil gauge readings with identifiable site references). * Ensure all coating applications meet manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and Eskola quality standards. * Maintain strict attention to detail to minimize material waste and ensure proper product usage. Project & Crew Management: * Plan daily work activities, including material staging, equipment setup, and crew assignments. * Monitor productivity and ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget. * Train and mentor crew members on proper coatings application techniques and safety practices. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and customers to communicate progress and resolve issues. Safety & Compliance: * Enforce all OSHA regulations and Eskola safety policies, with a strong focus on fall protection and chemical handling. * Lead daily safety discussions and participate in weekly safety meetings. * Ensure proper use, inspection, and maintenance of PPE, spray equipment, and coating tools. Documentation & Reporting: * Complete and submit daily reports including labor, materials, production quantities, and site conditions. * Upload required documentation, photos, and safety forms into company systems (e.g., DataForma). * Track material usage carefully to reduce waste and improve job profitability. Troubleshooting & Technical Expertise: * Diagnose and resolve field issues related to coating performance, substrate conditions, and environmental factors. * Adjust application techniques based on temperature, humidity, and weather conditions. * Ensure proper storage and handling of coating materials to maintain product integrity. Job Requirements and Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in commercial roofing with a strong focus on roof coating systems. * Proven experience as a Foreman or Lead overseeing fluid-applied roofing/coating projects. * In-depth knowledge of coating systems, application methods (spray/roller/squeegee), and surface preparation requirements. * Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and manufacturer application guidelines. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and drive performance. * High attention to detail, especially regarding application thickness, coverage, and system integrity. * Solid understanding of OSHA safety requirements, particularly for roofing and coatings work. * Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. * Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening as a condition of hire. * Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record that meets company and insurance requirements to travel to job sites as required. Physical Requirements: * Comfortable working with spray equipment, coatings materials, and rooftop environments. * Ability to lift and handle heavy materials and equipment. * Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and access rooftops safely. * Must be comfortable working at heights and capable of safely using ladders and other elevated access equipment in various weather conditions. Preferred Skills & Certifications: * Manufacturer certifications in roof coating systems (GAF, Carlisle, Henry, Tremco, etc.). * Experience with spray application equipment and maintenance. * Familiarity with reporting tools such as DataForma. * OSHA 10 hour or 30-hour Certification. * Aerial Lift and Forklift Certification. * Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred Additional Information: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or qualifications.
