What We Do Assembles title packages, searches for tax documentation or performs other research related to escrow and title closings. Work is done in an office, title plant or remotely traveling to court houses, municipalities and other government entities to perform the searches. Works independently and uses experience to compile search packages ranging in complexity that require research and investigation. Builds knowledge base of state practices and requirements. Job Description What You’ll Do Conduct title research to compile search packages ranging in complexity; document all research. Process departmental documents requiring specific knowledge of functional operations, type correspondence and reports from rough drafts. Compiles, investigates, and interprets tax records in order to determine tax liability. Tackle assignments that vary in complexity using established procedures. Work under general supervision applying well-established techniques, procedures, or specific standards. Exercise judgment within defined policies and procedures. Escalate issues to more experienced team members. ***This position will require frequent trips to the Montgomery County Courthouse.*** What You’ll Bring 1 or more years of related experience, preferably in the title industry. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Comfortable using technology and learning new systems. A love for research and problem-solving. Experience with tract book searching preferred. Familiarity with legal descriptions and ability to map and identify correct tract books for searches. Data entry and typing skills. Verbal and written communication skills. High School diploma or equivalent. This position will be accepting applications on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. Pay Range: $18.74 - $24.03 hourly This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.
