LOW VOLTAGE TECHNICIAN (WEST CHICAGO, IL)

Here at SUPERIOR, we are seeking reliable and motivated technicians to join our rapidly growing Structured Cabling & Security Installation team. This is a non-union position and may require up to 50% national travel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Technical skills and knowledge of commercial security systems & structured cabling systems
  • Ability to follow blueprints, notes, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards
  • Industry specific manufacturer certifications and BICSI training and/or certifications preferred.
  • Excellent time management, planning and decision-making skills.
  • Enjoys hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a professional team with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with AV a plus.

EDUCATION

  • High school or equivalent

Responsibilities
  • Perform installation of security-related equipment for commercial industries, including installing, testing, and commissioning
  • Roughing in, terminating, and testing cabling
  • Installing pathway supports such as j-hooks and ladder trays
  • Installation of all door hardware
  • Servicing/troubleshooting cabling in a commercial environment
  • Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of installations
