This leader will drive production, ensure robust risk management, and foster exceptional member experiences. Key responsibilities include expanding market presence, deepening treasury relationships, increasing deposit growth, and fostering cross-functional collaboration with Branch, Treasury Management and Operations to deliver holistic business solutions.   This position provides direct leadership to the Commercial Lending Team, including coaching, performance management, and professional development, ensuring consistent credit quality, regulatory compliance, and service standards. The Commercial Services Manager actively develops and maintains business relationships within the Credit Union’s charter area, serving as a trusted advisor to business members by delivering integrated lending and deposit solutions aligned with their operating and cash management needs.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Leadership & Team Management * Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Lending Team to achieve production, portfolio, and service objectives. * Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff; conduct performance evaluations, compensation recommendations, and corrective action as needed. * Establish efficient workflows, tools, and organizational systems to improve productivity and service delivery. * Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, and professional growth.   Business Development & Relationship Management * Develop and expand commercial lending and business deposit relationships within the Credit Union’s charter area. * Identify, generate, and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, prospecting, and market engagement. * Serve as a trusted advisor to business members by delivering integrated lending and deposit solutions aligned with their operational needs. * Represent the Credit Union in business and industry organizations to enhance market presence and referral networks.   Credit & Portfolio Management * Evaluate credit requests for adherence to Member Business Lending guidelines and determine overall creditworthiness. * Structure and approve credits within authority; present requests to the Member Business Loan Committee as required. * Maintain ongoing portfolio oversight, identifying early warning indicators and recommending risk rating adjustments. * Partner with the SVP of Commercial Services on concentration, sensitivity, and risk management reporting.   Operational & Compliance Oversight * Develop, implement, and maintain commercial lending policies and procedures. * Verify accuracy of loan terms, documentation, and disbursement processes. * Ensure timely collection of financial statements and documentation for renewals and portfolio monitoring. * Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.   Reporting & Strategic Execution * Prepare and deliver pipeline, production, and portfolio performance reports. * Monitor goal attainment, market conditions, and competitor offerings to inform strategy. * Collaborate cross-functionally with Branches, Treasury Management, and Operations to drive holistic business member growth.   Member Experience & Issue Resolution * Resolve member and non-member complaints professionally and efficiently. * Refer members to specialized services (e.g., investment, insurance, treasury) as appropriate.   LEADERSHIP: Undertakes continuous self-development of both functional and leadership skills. Focus and evidence of development in the following: * Thinks strategically * Executes for results * Leads talent * Develops personal proficiencies * Fosters a shared equity of power * Is self-regulating and has strong impulse control * Exercises emotional intelligence * Facilitates, not controls * Inspires commitment * Exhibits business financial acumen    QUALIFICATIONS: Experience/ Training/ Education: * College degree in business or related field or equivalent knowledge.  * Three to five years’ relevant experience in financial operations management, including commercial lending, business accounts, and business relationships, which would provide a thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.  Prefer experience with business accounts within a financial institution. * Three years minimum of supervisory experience required.    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: * Strong written and oral communication skills with emphasis on strong presentation skills.  Other language skills are helpful. * Strong organizational and planning skills. * Comprehensive understanding of the business services marketplace. * Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment. * Must have personal computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft programs. * Ability to interface with others in a positive and professional manner. * Goal-oriented with a desire to work in a fast-paced and result-driven environment. * Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-directed when necessary as well as the ability to work and accomplish goals in a team environment. * Position may require working evenings, Saturdays, weekends, and early mornings.             This position is currently hybrid-eligible, with the expectation of three days pre-assigned on-site attendance. This role requires California residency and living within a 50-mile commute of our headquarters in Santa Ana.   The targeted annual salary range is $125,760.00 to $157,200.00.
