JOB SUMMARY:

We seek a skilled sheet metal/ventilation foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in residential/commercial ventilation and possess an IP Red Seal Certification in sheet metal. You will run and supervise the installation of HRV, ERV and duct systems in a Light Commercial/Multi-Unit Residential Building (MURB) setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post Secondary Education in Sheet Metal/Ventilation
  • Proven experience as a leader and in a commercial setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of whole home energy efficiency principles, building science, products, and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to assess training needs, develop plans, and implement programs that meet organizational goals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certification in training or energy management (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, Energy System Engineering Technology, Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Planning and Scheduling: Coordinate with project managers and other foremen to plan and schedule ventilation projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Supervision: Direct and supervise HVAC technicians and other workers involved in ventilation projects, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Oversee the installation of ventilation systems in new construction projects or renovations. This includes ductwork, fans, vents, and other components.
  • Inspection and Testing: Inspect ventilation systems to ensure they operate efficiently and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair ventilation system issues, responding promptly to service calls and emergencies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate work records, including project documentation, maintenance schedules, and equipment manuals.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to HVAC technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards related to ventilation systems.
  • Customer Relations: Communicate with clients and building owners to address concerns, provide updates on project progress, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC ventilation systems to improve efficiency and quality of work.
