COMMERCIAL STORAGE MANAGER

Reports to: Commercial Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Commercial Storage Manager to take ownership of both the sales and operational management of our commercial storage services. This role combines business development with day-to-day warehouse oversight. You will be responsible for identifying new customers, selling storage solutions, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery for stored palletised goods.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for commercial pallet storage services.
• Proactively sell storage capacity to both new and existing customers.
• Prepare, present, and negotiate storage proposals and pricing based on client needs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts to encourage long-term partnerships and repeat business.
• Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets for storage services.
• Draft and manage storage contracts, ensuring all terms and SLAs are clearly defined and met.
• Provide tailored solutions to customers based on space availability and operational capability.
• Coordinate the efficient intake, handling, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Ensure effective space utilisation and warehouse layout planning to maximise capacity and profit.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and ensure all goods are properly recorded in the WMS.
• Report regularly to senior management on sales performance, storage capacity, and customer activity.
• Work collaboratively with other departments including transport, finance, and customer service to ensure integrated service delivery.
• Lead a small team or coordinate with warehouse staff dedicated to commercial storage functions.
• Provide training, support, and guidance to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures.
• Key Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in commercial storage or warehouse management, ideally within a pallet network or third-party logistics (3PL) environment.
• Strong understanding of palletised freight, warehousing systems, and storage pricing models.
• Commercial acumen with experience in client negotiation and contract management.
• Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and inventory control processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership capabilities with a hands-on, proactive approach
