Description

The Commercial Support Statistician is the subject matter expert in non-clinical statistics, focusing on drug product manufacturing and packaging processes. This role involves applying industry methodologies, collaborating with teams to innovate, validate, and improve processes, and providing training and mentorship on statistical techniques. The statistician ensures data-based decision-making and risk management across the global supply chain.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Serve as the global contact for using statistics and mathematics in technical problem-solving.
  • Design and deliver skill development programs and mentorship in statistics.
  • Review statistical software and procedures for appropriateness.
  • Collaborate across teams to influence project outcomes and ensure scientifically sound data analysis.
  • Lead study design and data collection to account for confounding factors and uncertainty.
  • Communicate scientific concepts, risk assessments, and statistical findings to management and regulatory agencies.
  • Contribute to project teams and governance committees, providing statistical insights.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelors degree (or equivalent).
Preferred: Masters degree or Ph.D. in Statistics or related Quantitative Sciences.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: 8+ years of experience in statistics or related Quantitative Sciences.
  • Preferred: Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing (solids, liquids, packaging).

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Expertise in statistical methods (ANOVA, regression, experimental design, etc.).
  • Proficiency with statistical software (Minitab, SAS, JMP, R).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and experience in Quality Assurance or Technical Operations.
  • Ability to design and deliver training on statistical techniques.
