Description TITLE: Tire Technician DEPARTMENT: Truck Variable REPORTS TO: Fleet Maintenance/Facility Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Position Summary: The Tire Technician, under direction of the Fleet Maintenance/Facility Manager, inspects, repairs and replaces tires for Tiger Sanitation’s commercial fleet. 2nd shift Essential Functions: Inspects tires for imperfections, wear and needed repairs Acts on inspection results by repairing, rotating or replacing tire Performs tire repairs as needed Rotates tires on commercial fleet to lengthen the life of the tire Inflates tires to the correct size recommended for the size and ply Separates and reassembles tires on rims Unbolts wheels from vehicle, using both manual and power operated tools Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees and community Actively demonstrates Tiger Sanitation’s core values in daily tasks and communications: Professionalism, Respect, Accountability and Communication Ability to demonstrate decision making skills that align with Tiger Sanitation’s 4 Step Decision Making Process Ability to operate manual and power tools needed to safely repair, replace and remove tires Ability to act independently Ability to collaborate with coworkers Education and Experience Two (2) years’ experience working with commercial tires, preferred Mounting and Dismounting and Tire Wear certifications, preferred Must obtain a valid driver’s license, class C license at minimum Working Conditions This position will be based in a non-climate-controlled building with extended periods of standing, squatting and using manual dexterity to operate both manual and power operated tools.
