Commercial Trainee Application Deadline: 31 March 2026 Department: Commercial Employment Type: Full Time Location: West Midlands Description As a Commercial Trainee you will shadow and support members of the Commercial Department and assist with the procurement of material and plant, under supervision of the Regional Buyer / Senior Buyer. If you do not already hold a relevant qualification you may also work towards a nationally recognised qualification with the Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship Key Responsibilities Comply with all Miller Homes policies and procedures and procurement plans Take off and preparing material schedules Expediting materials ordered as required Managing plant Processing requisition orders Bulk order information entry Material budget entry Material tender enquiries Maintenance of documentation library Day to day consumables for site General office duties for the Commercial team Resolving invoice queries in a timely manner ensuring, as far as possible, suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed trading terms. Collation of monthly plant hire data and communication of information to relevant Site Managers Assisting Surveyors with monthly payments, subcontractor procurement, order management and costing reports Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Below you will find a range of skills and capabilities that will be required in the role, some of these you will already possess and some we will help you to develop in your programme. Ability to plan, organise and monitor.
