Our Vancouver Commercial Insurance Branch is currently seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter Property and Casualty. You will service a portfolio of commercial insurance business requiring a proven underwriting ability and a dedication to customer service perfection. What you’ll do Champion strong broker relationships Manage and grow your assigned broker portfolio through daily engagement, clear communication, and trusted guidance. Negotiate pricing and terms for new business and renewals to support a profitable, well‑managed book within your underwriting authority. Apply strong technical underwriting judgment Underwrite Property & Casualty commercial accounts with a balanced approach to risk selection, pricing, and coverage analysis. Utilize risk management and loss control practices to support high‑quality underwriting decisions. Stay ahead of market trends Educate brokers on regional market conditions, pricing movements, appetite shifts, and product offerings. Bring insights and recommendations that elevate our presence in the commercial marketplace. Deliver exceptional service Respond to broker inquiries with urgency, clarity, and professionalism, ensuring a best‑in‑class customer experience. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the branch to drive collective success. What you'll bring 3–5+ years of experience in Commercial Lines underwriting or underwriting support — ideally with P&C technical knowledge. Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and marketing skills. A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Post‑secondary education in Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. CIP designation (or willingness to complete it within a reasonable timeframe). What you’ll get The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000 to $80,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
