Responsibilities

THIS ROLE IN A NUTSHELL:

This is a high-impact role responsible for driving value by shaping OVO’s overarching acquisition and retention strategy for Energy. You will be a key thought partner to commercial leadership, shaping the agenda for how we price our product and services in partnership with the Pricing team (who are our key experts in delivering and structuring our Energy Tariffs). This role requires a balance of deep analytical expertise, strong commercial intuition, and the ability to influence decisions across a breadth of experienced individuals (beyond day-to-day pricing decisions) to help set the long-term direction

You’ll be a successful in this role at OVO if you…

  • Have strong experience in a strategic pricing or commercial strategy role, preferably within the energy sector, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Possess a proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies that have delivered tangible business results
  • Are a highly strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture, connect disparate pieces of information, and anticipate future market trends
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with strong command of Excel/Google Sheets and proficiency in SQL for interrogating large complex datasets.
  • Are an outstanding communicator and influencer, capable of building strong relationships and articulating complex ideas simply and persuasively to senior stakeholders
  • Are a natural self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, proactive in identifying and solving unstructured problems.
  • Have experience working in cross-functional projects and collaborating effectively with colleagues across different teams, who are focused on delivering different success factors.
  • Are commercial astute, with a deep understanding of the key drivers of business value and profitability
  • Are financially fluent, with a clear understanding of a P&L and the ability to connect commercial decisions to financial outcome
