Description

We are seeking a hands-on Commercial Warehouse Lead to run the shift end-to-end. This role owns floor execution, inventory control, and data accuracy while coordinating closely with dispatch/transport and customer service. The Lead ensures safe, efficient receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, loading, and dispatch—without reliance on off-site supervisors. You will leverage our warehouse systems (including our AMJ web-based WMS) and spreadsheets to maintain high inventory accuracy, complete cycle counts, and produce reliable reporting for internal teams and customers.

Shift Leadership & Operations

  • Direct daily workflow for the commercial warehouse: dock scheduling, receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, staging, loading, and dispatch.
  • Run pre-shift huddles; assign labour, set priorities, and balance workloads across inbound, storage, and outbound tasks.
  • Uphold AMJ standard work for floor protection, packaging/handling, and load quality; ensure staging lanes and trailers are correct and on-time.
  • Execute and document damage-on-arrival procedures (photos, condition notes, driver sign-off/waiver) and escalate exceptions.
  • Coordinate closely with dispatch/transport to align pickups, deliveries, and owner-operator arrival times; minimise dock dwell and rework.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years’ warehouse experience with at least 1 year in a lead/acting-lead role (commercial or contract logistics environment preferred).
  • Proven track record in inventory control and cycle counting with 98%+ accuracy.
  • Strong systems aptitude: WMS experience and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (vlookups/xlookups, pivots, sumifs, data validation).
  • Comfortable with barcode/scan workflows and photo capture as part of receiving and quality documentation.
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain immediately) and strong material handling proficiency.
  • Clear, professional communication (written and verbal); able to interface with drivers, dispatch, customers, and leadership.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced dock/warehouse environment.
