JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Commis Pastry Chef to join our pastry team. This position is ideal for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in a pastry kitchen or fresh graduates from a culinary school with a specialization in pastry arts. As a Commis Pastry Chef, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality baked goods, desserts, and pastries while adhering to the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in a pastry kitchen or similar role. Fresh culinary school graduates with a pastry specialization may also be considered.
  • Education: Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Pastry, Baking, or a related field (preferred).
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of basic pastry techniques, recipes, and presentation.
  • Basic experience or training in pastry preparation and baking.
  • Attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes with precision.
  • Health & Safety: Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards.
  • Personal Qualities: A team player with excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for pastry and baking.
Responsibilities
  • Pastry Preparation: Assist in the preparation, baking, and finishing of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Recipe Adherence: Follow established recipes and instructions precisely to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Presentation & Creativity: Contribute to the artistic presentation of pastries and desserts, ensuring each item is visually appealing and meets quality standards.
  • Kitchen Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section of the kitchen, including workstations and storage areas.
  • Safety & Hygiene: Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation of ingredients and equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior pastry chefs and kitchen staff, contributing positively to a team-oriented environment. Be open to learning and improving pastry techniques and skills.
