Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic Commis 1 to join our culinary team at our restaurant in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Junior Chef, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, contributing to our restaurant's reputation for excellence. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and seasoning Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to restaurant standards Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative input when appropriate Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations Participate in inventory management and stock rotation Adapt to the fast-paced environment of a professional kitchen Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs Qualifications Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification Food safety certification 1-2 years of kitchen experience (preferred) Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Physical stamina to work long hours in a standing position Ability to work in a tropical climate Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine (preferred) Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Vietnamese is a plus Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Passion for cooking and willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field Additional Information What awaits you...
