Job Description Manage kitchen stock, equipment, and ingredients, ensuring proper handling and safety precautions. Master basic cooking methods, prepare mis-en-place, and create dishes according to standard recipes whilst maintaining portion control and minimising wastage. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all aspects of food production and storage. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas, promptly reporting any hazards or maintenance requirements to the supervisor. Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs, demonstrating a willingness to learn and improve culinary skills. Support in menu planning and development of new dishes, contributing creative ideas and techniques when appropriate. Maintain accurate records of food stock and assist in inventory management, ensuring optimal levels of ingredients and supplies. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations, fostering a positive team environment. Participate in ongoing culinary training and skill development programmes to enhance professional growth and kitchen efficiency.
