Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, working collaboratively with experienced chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while contributing to our organization's commitment to quality and excellence. Prepare and organize ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning under the guidance of senior kitchen staff Assist in the preparation of dishes according to established recipes and plating standards, ensuring consistency and quality Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols at all times Support the kitchen team during service, responding efficiently to requests and adapting to changing priorities Receive and store food deliveries, checking quality and quantity while maintaining proper inventory practices Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as marinating, blanching, and assembling components Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks Participate in training sessions and actively seek feedback to continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to senior kitchen staff immediately Contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive kitchen environment Qualifications Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Indonesian or other local languages is a plus Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene standards Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced, standing environment for extended periods Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions precisely Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques (preferred) Prior experience in a kitchen, food service, or hospitality setting (preferred) Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one (preferred) Culinary training, hospitality coursework, or formal culinary education (preferred) Strong time management and organizational skills Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to operational needs Positive attitude, enthusiasm for culinary arts, and commitment to professional development Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Job-Category: Culinary Job Type: Temporary Job Schedule: Full-Time
