Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team in Bangalore, India. As a Commis, you will be a vital part of our kitchen operations, working alongside experienced chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food preparation and service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. Prepare and organize your workstation before each shift, ensuring all tools, ingredients, and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for service Assist senior chefs with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to established recipes and standards Follow recipes and cooking instructions precisely, paying close attention to portion sizes, plating standards, and presentation requirements Maintain exceptional food safety and hygiene standards at all times, adhering to all kitchen protocols and local health regulations Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stovetops, fryers, and other culinary tools Support the kitchen team during service, responding quickly to requests and adapting to changing priorities in a high-pressure environment Clean and sanitize your workstation, equipment, and kitchen areas throughout and after each shift Collaborate effectively with colleagues, communicating clearly and supporting team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations Monitor inventory and report any shortages or equipment issues to senior staff promptly Contribute to a positive, inclusive kitchen culture by demonstrating enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn Qualifications Completed formal training in culinary arts, hospitality, or a related field from a recognized institution Practical experience working in a professional kitchen environment (minimum 6 months preferred) Current Food Safety and Hygiene certification or willingness to obtain one Strong knowledge of basic knife skills and food preparation techniques Familiarity with kitchen equipment, safety protocols, and sanitation standards Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly as part of a kitchen team Enthusiasm for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning and skill development Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient during busy service periods Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude Flexibility to adapt to changing kitchen demands and work schedules as needed Genuine passion for food quality and customer satisfaction Additional Information Diversity & Inclusion for Accor means welcoming each and everyone and respecting their differences by giving priority only to qualities and skills in extending employment and development opportunities.
