Job Description The role We have a wonderful rare opportunity to join our Kitchen Brigade as a casual Commis Chef, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the Kitchen and working in a team to provide quality and a high level of service to guests while adhering to Kitchen policies and procedures. What you’ll be doing: Food production in accordance with requirements whilst ensuring correct methods of cooking, consistency in product and quality Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety & adhere to strcit food safety guidelines, follow GIA procedures for food waste. Responsible for proper storage, labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff by providing instruction of duties Be a positive team member with a "Can Do" attitude Qualifications What we’re looking for: Commercial Cookery Qualification – Cert III or IV An experienced Chef with a creative flair and able to work across a la carte dining and functions and events Have previous experience working on pans and grill Sound knowledge of the latest trends in the industry Familiar with Food Safety and WHS legislation A passion for locally sourced and seasonal produce Proven ability to work in a high pressure and fast-paced environment Creative, eye for Detail and a Flair for Presentation Excellent interpersonal and communication skills A desire to develop among a driven & professional team Ability to work autonomously on a section or within a fast-paced team Availability to work a flexible roster, including nights, week-ends and public holidays. Hold valid full working rights in Australia to be able to work a full-time roster (sorry no sponsorship available).
