Nestled within the medieval moat of an ancient manor, Bassmead Manor Barns is a charming, elegant family-owned barn venue, used exclusively for our couples on their wedding day. History embraces them as they say “I Do” in our 350-year-old traditional, beamed barn while contemporary spaces are set to impress, from the sophisticated bar to the contemporary, light-filled Bridge Barn. Exquisite interior design, landscaped gardens, luxurious accommodation.
We are proud of our exceptional on-site Catering and Events Team, which you could soon be part of the kitchen brigade. Wedding Breakfasts at Bassmead are incredible and truly memorable.
We are looking for a passionate Commis Chef based to join the team at Bassmead Manor Barns, the successful candidate must be self-motivated, have a passion for good food and service, calm under pressure and be able to work in a small team. Experience in weddings of 100+ covers, fine dining, together with a strong background in a food led establishments.

REQUIREMENTS-

  • At least 2 years experience in a food led establishment using fresh ingredients
  • Own transport is essential due to the countryside location
  • Must be able to keep calm under pressure
  • Weekend availability essential
  • Candidates must be eligible to work full-time in the UK
Responsibilities
  • Reporting directly to our Head Chef & General Manager
  • The ability to work with our allergens policy and kitchen management package
  • Working alongside the Head Chef to manage the high standards of cleanliness by following daily cleaning procedures
  • Communication with the General Manager and Event Managers on site
  • Working with our Checkit food recording system
