Description

We're seeking Casual Commis Chefs to join our banqueting team, you’ll bring your passion for food, dedication to flavour, and commitment to excellence to our busy kitchen and banqueting operations. You’ll help prepare high-quality dishes for events, a la carte service, and buffet offerings, while maintaining impeccable standards in hygiene, presentation, and efficiency. Your Day to Day: * Assist in the preparation and production of dishes across banquets, a la carte, and buffet services. * Take ownership of your workstation – manage supplies, equipment, and minimise waste, exceeding HACCP and hygiene standards. * Support high-volume banqueting events of up to 500 guests, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. * Work efficiently under pressure, contributing to smooth kitchen operations alongside the Chef de Partie and Chef de Cuisine * Perform ad-hoc kitchen duties as needed, including washing, stock rotation, and reporting safety or equipment concerns. What We need from you: * Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen; banqueting or high-volume catering experience highly regarded. * Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification. * Current Safe Food Handling certification. * Strong communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. * Ability to lift, push and pull items up to 23kg and perform duties requiring bending or kneeling * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Full Australian Work Rights.
