Knockinaam Lodge, a 5-star luxury hotel with a Michelin heritage, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in a professional fine dining environment.
You will work closely with our experienced brigade, supporting the preparation and cooking of dishes to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs with the preparation and cooking of dishes.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, following food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Prepare ingredients (chopping, mixing, portioning, plating) with precision and care.
  • Ensure consistency by following recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Support stock rotation and assist with inventory checks.
  • Contribute ideas to menu development and improve kitchen efficiency.
  • Uphold the highest standards of hospitality by ensuring every dish delights our guests.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous kitchen experience is preferred, ideally within hospitality or fine dining.
  • Strong interest in food preparation and a desire to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.

Salary

£23,000–£25,000 PER ANNUM (DEPENDENT ON AGE/EXPERIENCE) + TIPS
