JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Commis Chef with experience in Japanese cuisine, particularly ramen preparation, to join our team for our new SLRP store. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in Japanese culinary techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality dishes consistently in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in Japanese cuisine, particularly ramen preparation, in a professional kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of ramen components (broth, tare, noodles, toppings) and Japanese culinary techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Good communication skills and a positive team attitude.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent training is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of Japanese dishes, with a strong focus on ramen and related components (broth, tare, noodles, toppings).
  • Maintain consistency, taste, and presentation standards for all dishes.
  • Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Prepare ingredients (mise en place) including slicing, chopping, marinating, and portioning.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform the Head Chef of any shortages.
  • Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and workstations.
  • Adapt to different stations and support the team as needed during service.
