Job Description As a Commis Chef you will assist with the kitchen operations, servicing the Restaurant, Events. You will report to the Chef de Cuisine who oversees Japanese kitchen operations. Key Responsibilities Include: Prepare and cook high quality food Helping to create good communication between FOH and BOH Keep the kitchen organized and clean Supporting the Chef de Partie and other chefs with their duties, sometimes rotating stations to assist various chefs Safely operating, maintaining, and overseeing the proper use of kitchen equipment Assisting with the plating and presentation of dishes to meet hotel standards Complying with health codes, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times Qualifications Hold relevant Certificate cookery qualifications and previous experience in a similar role Have knowledge about Japanese Kitchen Have knowledge and understanding of HACCP Be flexible to work a range of different shifts, including weekends Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
