Home Team Hospitality Group is a growing hospitality group based on Eagle Street in Brisbane CBD and has been established in Brisbane for several years.

We are expanding with the opening of our third and fourth venues, LuLóu and SweetLeaf, and are looking for passionate and reliable team members to join our growing kitchen team.

LuLóu will be an all-day, fully à la carte café offering breakfast, lunch and tapas.

SweetLeaf will operate through an online ordering app, offering fresh and healthy food including salads, bowls, bento boxes and other convenient meals.

Working Hours & Availability

We offer a great work-life balance, with all our venues closed every weekend and on public holidays.

Full availability Monday to Friday is essential for both positions.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

POSITION 1 – COMMIS CHEF

Employment Type: Casual

Award Classification: Restaurant Industry Award – Level 3

Hourly Rate: $34.96 + superannuation

Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week

About the Role

This position is ideal for a developing chef looking to build their skills, gain practical experience and grow within a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs with food preparation and service.
• Complete mise en place and general kitchen preparation.
• Prepare and cook menu items under the direction of senior chefs.
• Learn and maintain venue recipes, presentation and portion standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and general kitchen organisation.
• Work as part of the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Continue developing culinary skills alongside experienced chefs.

About You

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or currently completing the qualification.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and food.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and pride in your work.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.

POSITION 2 – KITCHEN HAND

Employment Type: Casual

Award Classification: Restaurant Industry Award – Level 1

Hourly Rate: $33.01 + superannuation

Hours: 20 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to support our chefs and kitchen team across daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Clean and maintain kitchen areas, benches and equipment.
• Keep the kitchen organised and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist with deliveries, unpacking and storing stock.
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Assist with waste management and general kitchen duties.
• Support the chefs and wider kitchen team during busy service periods.

About You

• Previous hospitality or kitchen experience is preferred but not essential.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• High standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Comfortable with standing for extended periods and performing general kitchen duties.
